Some of this week's work
In English we have been reading Alex Rider Stormbreaker as a class. We have spent this week learning our good example of descriptive writing. Our good example describes a spy gadget we call, The Alex Rider Spy pen. We have extracted information from the text and imagined what the pen looks like and drawn examples with labels. We have been using the written text and a pictorial text to help us learn the good example and visualise the spy gadget. We are going to be exploring the features of the descriptive text next week to learn more about what make effective descriptive writing. In Maths lessons we have been learning what it means to sort and classifying by one criterion. We have sorted numbers, shapes and household objects. We know that sometimes we will be asked to sort the objects into categories that have been provided for us and sometimes the objects have already been sorted and we will have to work out what the categories are.
